The American Association of Professional Hypnotherapists is a worldwide organization that promotes communication between professionals for the promotion and development of ethical methods, techniques, and standards in the field of hypnotherapy.
Some members that haven't visited the new AAPH web site are asking why they need to register, and why the web site doesn't immediately recognize who is already a member.
Due to changes in the law explained on this page, AAPH no longer publicly posts the addresses of members and other information from our membership files on the web site. Prior confusion between private home addresses, credit card billing addresses and office addresses and phone numbers has made this necessary.
Instead, members now choose which information they would like to be publicly displayed. Members now enter and update the information that is displayed in our Member Referral Directory, and members must explicitly set a flag on their profile to make it visible to the public.
The information stored on the web site directory is thus separate from our membership records. If you are a current or a lifetime member, we have your membership information at our offices. We have not entered your information into the web site referral directory, nor have we created a web site account for you.
Once you have created an account on the web site and you are logged in, the system will say something like: "member for: 3 minutes". This refers to your web site account, not your AAPH Membership status. This message is not displayed to the public; it is a status shown on your private member account page only.
