Doctor speaks on alternative treatments mentions hypnosis
The Spectrum (a Southern Utah news organization) has an article in which Dr. Craig Donaldson, radiation oncologist at Dixie Regional Medical Center's Huntsman-Intermountain Cancer Center and Valley View's Sandra Maxwell Cancer Center, talks about alternative health care.
He points to a 1990 national survey that indicated that the alternative health industry is a huge market. Americans spend more on alternative health care than on all hospital care: over $12.8 billion.
He also mentions hypnosis in the category of complimentary and alternative therapies that are safe.
Some non-invasive treatments have little potential for harm: music therapy, meditation or hypnosis for instance. Many patients find help in such therapies.
